Jerry Williams debuts as a radio talk show host on WMEX.

Called “the dean of talk radio,” Williams first radio talk show was for WKDN in New Jersey. In Boston, he moves to WBZ in 1968, is fired in 1976 and leaves Boston, then returns to WRKO in the mid-1980s. After leading a successful campaign to repeal the Massachusetts compulsory seat-belt law in 1986, he is fired in 1998. He returns to the air for one show on WROL, a few months before his death, on March 1, 2003.
